Dunhill invented the aluminum ‘inner tube’ to keep the innards of the pipe clean.
When the pipe became dirty the tube could simply and easily be replaced.

However, I don't think Bents and Churchwardens come with these inner tube.
I smoke mine without the tube and don't see any difference, so I don't see the need to buy one.
I do keep the older inner tube with patent number come with the original vintage pipe.

Ans) Yes, I know that the inner tube can keep the pipe clean. Anyway, in global market I want to know how many sizes of inner tubes there are or one size only.
However, I don't think Bents and Churchwardens come with these inner tube.
Ans) You remind me to remember that the inner tube can't be applied to the both of bents and churchwardens designs.
I smoke mine without the tube and don't see any difference, so I don't see the need to buy one.
Ans) Even though I want to apply an inner tube to the bents design of the style 3421, The pipe can't be matched by the dimension of an inner tube. I absolutely agree your viewpoint about the pipe clean if an inner tube can be designed and put inside the pipe for use.
I do keep the older inner tube with patent number come with the original vintage pipe.
Ans) According to my realization, an inner tube, exception for an original vintage pipe, should be without any patent number. You make me confused for this point. |
