Hello Thym. As you might already know, Larsen commission their straight grain line to pipe makers all over Denmark. So this pipe could be made by anyone. Your guess is understandable due to the shape being a favorite of Hedeegard, but then again the Danes copies shapes from each other all the time. At first I also thought it was Peter's creation, but after looking at the part where the stem join the shank, I have a feeling it was made by Olson. He is one of the oldtimers, not quite the era of Sixteen or Rasmunsen, but more the same period as the second generation after sixteen along with Vigen, Holm or Viggo Nielsen. you can still find his pipes from certain shops in EU, but not many. He is quite old now. Anyway, you might be right all along. Keep smoking and be happy. Peace.
PS Larsen does not designate any makers to their grading, so anyone could have made this pipe including Teddy Knudsen. He is probably the most well known of all makers who carved for larsen. It this is a Teddy's creation, then you got your self a very valuabel pipe. BTW, F is an older grading, around 60 and 70's. Looking at the grain, by today's standard, it should be a 2 or 3. |
