I have friends who complain about this type of Danish style tobacco, some dislike the acid burn sensation on the tongue as soon as the smoke hits it.
To me, the flavor is mild, nicotine is low and it leads to over puffing. Reminiscent of Mac Baren`s Virginia Flake.
For someone with 30-40 years of cigarette history, I can imagine you are over puffing to get more nicotine into your system, does lead to acid burn on your tongue.
Have you tried other types of tobacco? For example Peterson Irish flake, Rattrays Hal o' the wynd, Solani 633, Dunhill flake or Escudo.
For the similar price range of tobacco, I smoke some Macbaren Navy flake because of the burley, it is like University flake but a lot cheaper. Enough nicotine for average smoke with some 20 to 30 years of cigarette smoking experience.
Do note, I age all my Macbaren tobacco, recommend at least 5 years.
