Bowl coating
This is an experiment wherein two pieces of briar were cut from the same block and exposed to an open flame. One was coated with a mixture of sodium silicate, pumice, and activated charcoal. The other was left as "raw briar."https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=kcDMaHT1khI This brief experiment tests the claim that, because Sodium Silicate is classified as "anhydrous" on Material Safety Data Sheets, that a mixture of sodium silicate, activated charcoal, and pumice will form a hard "glass like" layer preventing moisture from passing through the coating and, therefore, creating a "wet" smoke.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FBnnvwDIYQA I got It! Thanks! But I don't think if I use the raw briar(Non-Charcoal) might burn like that, usually I smoke peace and not so fast wouldn't cause that burn
All kinds of the dry woods are easily burned. In the ancient China and western countries , people mainly use woods for cooking and keeping warm in winter.
Therefore, what the briar of pipes with some chemical liquid made should be necessary in production process.
