It fell from the 2nd floor, bounced from the highly polished ceramic tile floor and landed on the sofa, next to my wife and cat. The cat jumped.
“I told you so! One of these days!”
I took a pull at my glass and thought, “Oh dear, my pipe!”
My wife looked at me in disbelief,” I am fine! My dear!”
I, didn't know what to say, part of me wanted a glimpse at what was left of my pipe, but I knew if I didn't comfort my wife and assured her that this would not happen again, it would be off with my head.
My pipe would not have fallen on us if I had better planned that layout of my house.
You see, my vision of good interior design essentially revolves around me not having to lift a finger (or leg) while being able to multi-task.
My study is located on the marionette level, just above the living room. I have tons of things on my study table, my smoking pipes included, and many other stuffs.
From my study table, I have a view of the sofa and the tally in the living room.
When I am seated at my study, I can watch the tally down below, surf the net on my computer upstairs and clean my smoking pipes, all at the same time.
Oh woe is me, what a hard life I have, smoking, eating and watching the tally.
Maybe it is time for me to have a tally upstairs, or do one thing at a time instead of multi-tasking.
By the way, my Butz Choquin is fine, except for a big dent and luckily, no crack in sight.
And of course, my wife gave me the evil eye and my standing with her has dropped quite a few notches. My cat walks away.
I sat down with me cup of tea and cookies.
The wife, cat and pipe are fine. |
