There are 3 or 4 places selling pipes and tobacco, there are all limited in choices.I would not recommend you to go there.I buy my pipes from online shops.
For pipetobacco, I usually buyfrom the neighboring country Malaysia. The pipe shops in Malaysia seem very comparable, if not cheaper then some online shops.
I buy my cigar online from Spain and of course I pay all duties and taxes.
Tobacco tax is S$352 per kg and you have to pay GST 7% on both the cost of the cigars and tobacco tax. when your order gets delivered, it will be held by customs and a letter will be sent to you to go pay the relevant tax/duty and collect your cigars.
If you are a student in Singapore, you might want to reconsider picking up smoking as a hobby.
Smoking is prohibitalmost every where now.It is illegal to smoke in front of your own home too!you can smoke indoors… inside your own house.
Smoking is also not a socially acceptable behavior in Singapore, and in many other parts of the world.
I have difficulty stopping, it is not "cool" anymore…. so if you have not started, best not to do so now.
So ,now Ilive in Malaysia. http://www.customs.gov.sg/NR/rdonlyres/806059B3-FEBE-4D85-9717-C4270BE42857/28860/onenighttwoopsthreeraidsMediaReleaseforweb.pdf
"….
11 With effect from 1 January this year, the minimum court fine for first-time and repeat offenders of tobacco-related offences has been raised to $2,000 and $4,000 respectively. Repeat offenders who are caught with more than two kilogrammes of tobacco products will also face mandatory imprisonment. Vehicles used in the commission of such offences are also liable to be forfeited.
12 The public is strongly advised not to get involved with illegal cigarettes. For possessing a packet of duty-unpaid cigarettes, buyers may face a minimum fine of $500 or prosecution in court……"
No joke :lol Welcome to the "fine" city :victory:
Singapore has been well-known as a "fine" city, which has been embedded with two different meanings.
One as a fine city to be living in while another means fines that keep the country in order. :funk: 苛政猛於虎 话说还是没有人真正的回答我的问题 但是还是感谢楼上的建议 Here you go :funk:
