Dear Leslie,It seems like this dispute is going to go on forever and as I have read other threads on your website regarding the useage of english on the site. Clearly, that such an act is deemed inappropriate and greatly unappreciated which I am fully awared of as off now.
My main objective in being here was to share my insight (though i consider myself to have a very limited knowledge on the subject)into the wonderful world of pipe smoking and collecting to those who can and will appreciate the outer perspective that one may bring to the forum. Being a person who has lived abroad for almost all of one's life, maybe there is something that one can bring to the party with a fresher insight, not bounded by differences in culture or anything alike but one's experience and knowledge thus far in life (and life is surly a journey full of both good things and bad needless to say).
To one, it is simply easier to use the language that one is most familiar with and it only serves as better tool to express one's opinions, nothing more is intended indeed.
It is just suprising to me that as I have always regarded pipe-smoking as almost like a ritual for the soul to escape the body, even though it may only last for that very few seconds, longer sometimes if you get lucky....^^ but I never envisage it to get all tanggled up in politics, this is the last thing that I ever wanted to remember the hobby by ( maybe I'm over-reacting now but i still do hope tha t I am not)....
well, there is a thousand words in me now but somehow they have got the better of me and I do not intend to bore you any further with it...
I do wish I can meet the man who is behind this wonderful website one day, but for the time being i have just one request and that is- would you kindly remove me off your member's list as my deed here is done.
Thank you
Sincerely yours
**
====================================================
Dear ****,
Please, come back to us.
I got up early this morning, and saw you short message... I felt really sad and agitated, my dear friend.
Please let me explain this to you, ****:
Again, I totally have no problem with the use of English in MY website, I believe that so do most of the villagers. Language barriers and/or culture shocks should never be a problem curbing our pleasant communication. The purpose of setting up this interesting website is to share knowledge and happiness, of our common hobby, indeed, not to get tangled up with unpleasant disputes.
Unfortunately, I have been suffering miserably from disputes and stupid people (I'm always the target of attacks...). I was really unhappy with that, almost wanting to shut down the whole thing back and forth. While the vital reason of being responsible to the friends who enjoy this cozy place makes me to keep up. I wrote in one thread that the pleasant communication with You reminded me of the good old days people shared and had fun, which makes me to keep up instead of quitting.
On the other hand, as I mentioned, I'm re-constructing the forum system, setting up threadsholes to block assholes (and the disputes accompanied by those gents) in order to keep sweet people. As you know, I encountered technical problems since I'm not a professional web techno guy. With the kind assistance of ***** (he's a real hacker), things are underway and he told me that it'll be finished within last week, thought I didn't see any changes, maybe due to his busy schedule and debugging efforts. But, many villagers are looking forward to see the change.
I noticed this dispute, I knew better. From my past experience, I know it'll be another dispute if I punished the inappropriate things hardly. So I followed the thread with politically decent words and suggested it should end. While, as Rauber told me he deleted your threads instead, I was really baffling. The reason behind the scene is that he doesn't understand English well.
Of course, I was trying to resolved that. I could recover your threads in the first place, but I didn't. I thought I should respect the judgments of my great volunteered moderators. So, I communicated with Rauber immediately and got to know more details of this implementation. Finally, as you know, Rauber is very intellectual and considerate, we got mysteries deciphered very smoothly. We agreed to recover what should be recovered. And I did right afterwards (and I got your message afterward too...).
Why the fuck good people are retreating, leaving flawty individuals having fun? Why the fuck I set up this non-commercial place, dedicating a lot of time, efforts and money into it? I don't believe this bullshit and I decided to change, accentuating the core-spirits of PipeVillage. Things are changing and will be executed with more (brutal) assertiveness, when the new system comes into play.
Please, my dear friend, never get busted by this temporary unpleasant situation. I really want you to come back and share your insights.
Thanking you
My kindest personal regards
Leslie

Leslie,
Myself as a dual language speaker can understand the frustration of some non-English on this board. At the same time, I hope they will understand that no everyone have access to a Chinese computer, some will have njstar (which is a Chinese reading software), others like myself used njwin on a English base operating system. I type Chinese using "pin ying" method, which practically takes me about 5-15 seconds to type one character.
I hereby recomend non-English to try out this free translation service by altavista.com.
